Kangana, who is now a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and running for office in Mandi, surprised many people by saying at an event that Subhas Chandra Bose, not Jawaharlal Nehru, was India’s first Prime Minister.

Subhas Chandra Bose passed away on August 18, 1945, which was before India became independent on August 15, 1947. Jawaharlal Nehru started being the Prime Minister of India in 1951 and continued until 1964.
