Mark Zuckerberg’s company Meta is trying out its new smart computer program on Instagram. This program is called ‘Meta AI’. It works like other smart programs you might have seen before. Meta AI can write poems, make pictures, and give answers when you ask it something, all from just one message. Meta has also started testing this smart program for some people in India and other places.
Meta told Engadget that they are working on computer programs that use artificial intelligence to create experiences. They’re trying out different versions of these programs, but only a few people can try them out right now.
A report from TechCrunch noticed that Meta was trying out its AI chatbot in the main search bar. But some other reports say the chatbot showed up in the Instagram DM search bar. According to Engadget, when they clicked on the Meta AI icon, they could talk with the chatbot right from their DM, like talking to a friend.
Some people on social media said that the Meta AI chatbot can help them find reels about a certain topic. This means they might not need to use Instagram search anymore.
What is Meta AI?
Last September, Meta introduced Meta AI during the Meta Connect 2023 event. They want to include this smart AI system in all their social media apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.
Meta AI works by combining a special model called Llama 2 with Meta’s own Large Language Model (LLM) research. It aims to make conversations on social media feel more natural and easy. Also, Meta teamed up with Microsoft’s Bing to add real-time information to chats.
Meta promised that their AI assistant will be helpful in many ways. It can suggest things, provide entertainment, help solve arguments, and share knowledge.
