Specifications Leak:
Rumored specifications indicate that the Pixel 8a will feature a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The display is expected to offer exceptional brightness, reaching up to 1,400 nits when displaying HDR content. This would be a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, which had a 90Hz screen.
Under the hood, the Pixel 8a is rumored to be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset, the same processor found in the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. However, there might be a difference in the chip packaging technology, with the Pixel 8a possibly using IPoP (Integrated Package on Package) instead of FOPLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging).
Color Options:
Leaked information suggests that the Pixel 8a will come in four color options: Obsidian (black), Porcelain (beige), Bay (light blue), and Mint (light green). However, not all colors may be available for both versions of the phone, with the 256GB model reportedly only offered in Obsidian (black).
Expected Pricing:
Reports indicate that the Pixel 8a will come with two memory options and a variety of color choices. However, there’s a twist in the pricing compared to its predecessor. German retailers suggest that the starting price for the Pixel 8a could exceed 550 euros, roughly equivalent to Rs 50,000 in India. This marks a notable increase from the Pixel 7a, which started at 499 euros, equivalent to less than Rs 45,000.
Release Date:
While the exact release date for the Pixel 8a remains uncertain, industry insiders speculate that it will hit stores sometime in April or May.
