As IPL 2024 approaches its climax, former India cricketer Sreesanth shed light on the financial woes faced by players from defunct IPL teams. Speaking on ‘The Ranveer Show’, Sreesanth disclosed that he, along with other players like Muttiah Muralitharan, Mahela Jayawardene, Brendon McCullum, and Ravindra Jadeja, is yet to receive payment from the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala franchise.
Expressing frustration over the delay in payments, Sreesanth appealed to the franchise to fulfill their financial obligations, emphasizing the impact on players’ lives. He urged the BCCI to intervene, highlighting the long-standing issue faced by former players.
Despite the controversy surrounding unpaid dues, Sreesanth weighed in on Hardik Pandya’s selection for the T20 World Cup squad, citing his valuable contributions to the team. He praised Pandya’s ability to perform under pressure, especially in partnership with Virat Kohli, foreseeing a potent combination for India in challenging chases.
