Panchayat season 3 premiered on Tuesday, May 28. Amid the reviews, a new report allegedly revealed the cast members’ salaries.

Panchayat season 3 released on Tuesday, May 28. The Amazon Prime Video series brings back the OG stars — Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Sanvikaa, and Chandan Roy — for another fun season. While the series is getting mixed reviews, a report has revealed the cast fees for the show. As per reports, Jitendra Kumar aka Jeetu is the highest paid actor of Amazon Prime Video. It is claimed that Neena Gupta is the second highest paid star of the show.

According to ABP Live, Jitendra Kumar was paid Rs 70,000 per episode for his role of Abhishek Tripathi. Given that the third season has eight episode, Jitendra’s estimated salary for this season is Rs 5,60,000. The report added that Neena Gupta followed up in the second spot on the list. Returning to the new season to reprise her role of Manju Devi, it is said that she was paid Rs 50,000 per episode. It translates to an estimate of Rs 4,00,000 for the season.

The third highest paid star of this season is said to be Raghubir Yadav. Reprising his role of Pradhan ji aka Manju Devi’s husband, he has reportedly been paid Rs 40,000 per episode, aka Rs 3,20,000 this season. Chandan Roy, who plays Vikas ji in the new season, charged Rs 20,000 per episode. News18 couldn’t verify the claims at the time of reporting.

The new season starts off from the cliffhangers of the Season 2 finale. The now-transferred Sachiv Ji (played by Jitendra Kumar) has relocated to Delhi for his CAT preparation but is mentally thinking about Phulera. On the other hand, we meet the new Panchayat secretary that is replacing him. The new season brings in new twists and turns.

News18 Showsha gave Panchayat season 3 a 3.5 rating and said in its review: “Season 3 of Panchayat takes off well in the first three episodes. The makers tenderly intertwine the predicaments of Jagmohan and his family with a grieving Prahlad. One particular scene between Jagmohan’s mother and Prahlad, where the two confide in each other will move you to tears. It’s raw, touching and soul-stirring.”

“While the show has a handful of such moments, it gets criminally overshadowed by a dramatic track between the MLA and the village folks. Unlike the previous seasons, where we got to delve deep into the character’s dynamics and its relevance to the issues pertaining to the village, this season shifts its focus to an over-the-top narrative, which seems stretched and redundant after a while,” the review added.
