Kangana Ranaut, an actress running for a seat in Parliament for the BJP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, said on Monday that she doesn’t eat beef or any other type of red meat. She also mentioned that there are untrue rumors going around about her, specifically mentioning comments made by Maharashtra Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar.
In a speech in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli, Wadettiwar talked about Ranaut. He said Ranaut once wrote online that she liked and ate beef. Now, the political party called the saffron party has given her a ticket for the upcoming elections. He also said the BJP, another political party, is accepting corrupt leaders into its group.
Ranaut responded to this. She said she doesn’t eat beef or any other red meat. She finds it shameful that false rumors are being spread about her. For many years, she has been promoting a healthy lifestyle based on yoga and Ayurveda. She believes such tactics won’t work to damage her reputation. Her supporters know her well, and they know she is a proud Hindu. She ended her statement with “Jai Shri Ram,” a religious slogan.
In simpler terms, BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhye said that the comments made by Wadettiwar show how the Congress party has a bad way of doing things. He said the Congress can’t argue with them properly and this shows they’ve already given up.
In a video on social media, BJP leader Shaina NC accused the Congress of not supporting women. She said Vijay Wadettiwar, the Congress leader in Maharashtra, lacks principles because he said Kangana Ranaut got a ticket because she eats beef.
She mentioned the rude remarks made by Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate about Kangana Ranaut and the disrespectful comment by senior leader Randeep Singh Surjewala about sitting MP Hema Malini from Mathura.
Supriya Shrinate, Randeep Surjewala in hornet’s nest
Supriya Shrinate caused trouble when a controversial post appeared on her Instagram. The post showed Kangana Ranaut in a revealing outfit with a disrespectful caption. This happened after the BJP announced Ranaut as their candidate for Lok Sabha from Mandi.
But Shrinate wasn’t the only one in trouble for making disrespectful comments. Randeep Singh Surjewala, a senior Congress leader from Haryana, also made inappropriate remarks about Hema Malini at a rally. A video of this was shared by Amit Malviya on X.
Women voters will answer on June 4
The BJP leader said, “If the Congress party lacks any good ideas, then we’ll see the results on June 4 when Indian women vote against them.”
