Check out Sharmin Segal’s new comments after she called Aditi Rao Hydari ‘a school girl’ over the last few weeks.
As soon as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi was released on May 1, Sharmain Segal was criticized for her ‘expressionless’ acting. There were many users on X who were interested in Sharmin’s statement that Aditi Rao Hydari is just like a well-behaved ‘school girl’ in the interviews taken before the show premiered. Sharmin called Aditi the ‘caring’ co-star in a new interview with Pinkvilla.
Sharmin’s words
In the interview, Sharmin was asked who was the most caring one on set and she referred to Aditi Rao Hydari. Also, she said of Aditi, “I learned how to be kind from her. She is very kind. She is very sweet. She is also very motherly… towards me. She is very sweet. She also taught me how to be graceful because Aditi is very graceful as well.”
In the same interview, Sharmin addressed the reception of her performance and said she is open to ‘constructive criticism’ while adding, “I have been working on my mental health for a very long time now in my life. It’s just not throughout my acting career. Once you start to understand yourself better, it becomes much easier to realize that you live in a vast world full of people with many different opinions.”
Before the release of Heeramandi, Sharmin had compared Aditi to a ‘school girl’, who is punctual and adheres to each and every note given to her.
She played Alamzeb, the daughter of Mallikajaan’s Mallikajaan, in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi. This series explores the clash between courtesans and officials in Lahore’s red-light district of Heeramandi during the British Raj. In addition to Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman, the show has already been announced for its second season.
