Ashwin’s performance in this year’s IPL was relatively modest. He managed to pick up just nine wickets in 15 games, with an economy rate of 8.49. His standout performance came in the Eliminator against Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he bowled an impressive 2/19 in four overs.
With no immediate professional commitments, Ashwin is making the most of his summer break with his family. A heartwarming clip shared by his wife, Prithi Narayanan, shows Ashwin engaging in a lively game of ludo with his children. The video, which Ashwin also reshared, captures a rare glimpse of the cricketer’s personal life.

Ashwin marked the end of his IPL 2024 journey with a heartfelt message on social media. Reflecting on his tenure, he expressed gratitude and fond memories of his time with the Rajasthan Royals.
“A season to remember and a happy 3 year period with the @rajasthanroyals. 💯💯 @yuzi_chahal23 @imsanjusamson,” Ashwin wrote on Instagram.
The Rajasthan Royals had a roller-coaster campaign this year. They started the tournament strong, leading the points table at the halfway mark. However, a sudden dip in form saw them lose four consecutive matches, finishing the league phase in third place.
Despite the setback, Sanju Samson and his team rallied to defeat the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator. Unfortunately, their journey ended in Qualifier 2, where they fell to the SunRisers Hyderabad. Chasing 176 at Chepauk, they could only muster 139, losing by 36 runs.
As Ashwin enjoys his well-deserved break, fans are left wondering about his next moves and looking forward to his return to the cricketing scene.
