Pixel 8a Price Leaked Ahead of Potential Launch at Google I/O Event

Two weeks before the anticipated Google I/O event, leaks regarding the price of the Pixel 8a have surfaced online. According to reports, the Pixel 8a is expected to debut with a starting price of $499 in the US, roughly equivalent to Rs 41,000 in India. This pricing suggests that the mid-range premium device could maintain a similar price range as its predecessor, the Pixel 7a.

Scheduled for a potential launch at the upcoming Google I/O event on May 14, the Pixel 8a is also expected to hit markets in India and worldwide soon after. The leaked pricing indicates that Google may continue its trend of offering competitive pricing for its Pixel A series phones.

Additionally, rumors suggest that the Pixel 8a will be available in a 256GB storage model, priced at $599 (approximately Rs 50,000). However, there is speculation that Google might alter its pricing strategy to provide users with better value, potentially boosting the popularity of its Pixel A series phones.

If leaks are accurate, the Pixel 8a is anticipated to feature a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak HDR brightness of 1,400 nits. Under the hood, it is rumored to be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset, similar to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, with a potential variation in the chipset technology used.

Furthermore, the Pixel 8a is expected to include a larger 4,500mAh battery compared to its predecessor, supporting 27W fast charging. Notably, Google is likely to follow its trend of not including a charger in the retail box.

In terms of camera capabilities, leaks suggest that the Pixel 8a will retain the same rear camera setup as its predecessor, featuring a 64-megapixel primary camera with OIS support and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera. For selfies, a 13-megapixel front camera is expected.
