At most educational institutions – whether they are schools, colleges, or higher education institutes – the fee increase is associated with the beginning of the new academic year. In the new academic term, admission to the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), MICA, and National Institute of Design (NID) programs will cost more due to a fee increase.

In the 2023-25 batch, the total program fee for PGP and PGP-FABM is Rs 25 lakhs, inclusive of Rs 18.19 lakh tuition fees. The revision for the batch starting in 2024 will be announced soon.

According to an IIMA spokesperson, the fee for the 2024-25 PGPX Batch is Rs 33 Lakh for candidates choosing Single Accommodation, and Rs 35 Lakh for those opting for Married Student Housing. This amount also includes the cost of the International Immersion Programme (IIP), but does not cover travel and accommodation expenses. Last year’s fee structure for PGPX was Rs 31.5 Lakh for Single Accommodation and INR 33.5 Lakhs for Married Student Housing, in addition to the cost of the IIP, without factoring in travel and accommodation costs.

Vinit Shah, Head of Finance at MICA, has announced that the fees for the upcoming batch starting in 2024 will be increased by 9% for all programs. This adjustment takes into consideration inflationary changes, increased resources, and the goal of providing a top-notch learning environment. For the previous academic year, the fees for the two-year PGDM and PGDM-C programs were around Rs 21.93 Lakh, while for the new academic year it will be around Rs 23.95 Lakh. Similarly, for the one-year CCC program, fees were Rs 8.46 Lakh in 2023 and will be Rs 9.21 Lakh for this academic year.

Fee increase has also taken effect at the National Institute of Design Ahmedabad (NID). Among the fee structures shared with Bachelor of Design aspirants for 2024-25 is the rise to Rs 2,12,900 per semester with hostel charges for students from India. For semesters 2, 4 and 6, the fee will be Rs 2,11,400 and for semester 8 it will be Rs 2,01,500. This brings the total fee for BDes course to Rs 16.87 lakh.
